About

Hi, I'm Klaudia

followthewiatr is mainly me — but Michał has been here from the start, and without him none of this would exist.

I grew up in Piątkowice, a small village in the Opole region of Poland. In 2010 I moved to Kraków to study mathematics at Jagiellonian University — that's where I met Michał, who was studying computer science. In 2018 we flew to Bali for our honeymoon. We fell completely in love with it. Five trips later, we bought a small villa there. Bali is our second home now.

Us and Indonesia

That first trip changed things. Since then we've been travelling actively — always on our own terms, no group tours, no travel agents. We've visited over 10 countries. But Indonesia is the one we keep coming back to: 9 islands so far, and it still feels like we've barely started. We want to go deeper, not wider — and help others discover a country that's beautiful, surprising, and often overlooked.

How the guides are made

The foundation is what we've visited and verified ourselves. To keep information current, I also pull in data from other sources — and always note where it comes from. Prices in Indonesia move fast; I'd rather give a sourced reference point with a caveat than nothing at all.

Beyond travel

I have a master's degree in mathematics, though I don't work in the field. For 10 years I've been working in a corporation — and I already know that sitting in front of a screen isn't my calling. As a kid I danced, sang, recited poetry. I spent a few years as a vocalist in a wedding band. These days I love handmade things — working with my hands.
