How to use your guide: PDF, maps and checklist
Start with these three steps. These instructions cover the available Volume 1. The free 5-day starter and the book sample are separate resources.
1. Save and check the PDF
Open the link in your purchase email, download the file, and choose Save to Files on iPhone or Download on Android. Open the saved file in a PDF reader. Then switch on airplane mode and open it again. Keeping a browser tab open is not enough.
2. Choose your route
Volume 1 includes 7- and 15-day routes. Match them to your flights and pace. The planner can save your draft in the browser or export it as a TXT file. Check current transport and admission rules before travelling.
3. Prepare your map separately
Chapter 20 lists place names. The Volume 1 download page also provides search links. Open a result, check its region and save the place. In the Google Maps app, choose your profile → Offline maps → Select your own map and download the area over Wi-Fi.
Saving places does not download the map. Offline driving directions require the entire route to fit inside the downloaded area. Walking, cycling and public transport directions and traffic information are unavailable offline. Do not use this as a navigation tool for volcanic trails.

- Check passport and visa requirements for your nationality on the official immigration website.
- Complete the All Indonesia arrival declaration before arrival and save the confirmation on your phone.
- Arrange a travel health consultation in advance; vaccines and medication depend on your health and itinerary.
- Check insurance terms for your activities, altitude and vehicles, and save the assistance number.
- If you plan to drive, check licence categories, required documents and insurance coverage.
- Save the PDF, bookings, tickets, first accommodation address and emergency contacts in your phone's files.
- Download the map covering your entire route. Check that your PDF and map open without internet.
- Before a park visit, check official notices, weather and bookings; keep a backup plan.

Edition and updates
20 October 2026 — corrections 1.0: four pages added at the beginning of Volume 1, with offline map instructions, 79 place search links, a checklist and an Ijen status update. This covers PL, EN, FR, DE and the English edition for travellers from the Netherlands. The revised PDFs have 132 pages in Polish, 136 in English, 139 in French and German, and 130 in the EN/NL edition. Original chapters are preserved. This review covers the topics in the insert; it does not mean every price and chapter has been rechecked.

Volume 2 — West Java
Volume 2 remains a pre-order. It covers West Java, including Bandung, Bogor and the surrounding region; the language is recorded in your order. The file is not yet available and no release date has been announced. When the edition is ready, it will be sent to your order email.
